Document Description
In order to improve park facilities for visitors, and to provide school groups with a place to sit and have lunch after field trips, this project will install two picnic tables each at up to three locations at the Andora trailhead. Location 1 is in an open area behind the trailhead interpretive kiosk. Location 2 is on a small, flat terrace between the existing trail and the stream channel, and is set back from the streambank. Location 3 is located in a small, flat clearing between two oak trees. These locations have been selected to account for partial shading on relatively flat surfaces, and to avoid being placed in areas where parking and a vault toilet may be installed in the future. Minor raking of the ground surface may be required to level the tables, and all tables will be secured with a concrete post and chain. One additional trashcan may also be installed near a picnic table location depending on operational need. The project is located in a previously disturbed area and outside the boundaries of any known cultural resources.
