Document Description
Project is to install fencing along Hetzler Road at Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook (BHSO). The purpose of the fencing is to control after-hours public access and prevent the formation of volunteer trails as well as damage and erosion to the hillside, which is a plant restoration area. A 360' section of Omega-style fencing will run along the north side of Hetzler Road beginning at the first turnaround and ending across from the end of a commercial parking lot. An 80' length of coated chain link will connect the Hetzler Road fencing downslope to the corner of the parking lot. The posts will be cemented into the ground at a depth of approx. 18" to 22" with spacing of approximately 8 feet and will be 6' in height. Climbing drought-tolerant plant species will be planted along the fence to provide an aesthetically pleasing barrier. No irrigation will be installed; plants will be hand-watered with a water buffalo until established.
