Document Description
The project would convey water diverted from the Sacramento River by the DWWSP through treatment infrastructure then through the existing potable water transmission systems of Woodland and Davis, to one or more proposed aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) wells. When needed to supplement water supplies, the water retained in storage would be extracted from the aquifer through the proposed ASR wells or other existing wells within the Cities' network of pumping facilities. Proposed facilities include (1) up to six ASR wells to serve the City of Woodland and up to five ASR wells to serve the City of Davis; (2) pipeline connections, pumps, and other appurtenances needed to deliver and inject water into the proposed ASR wells; and to extract and deliver the stored water from the ASR wells to the Cities' distribution systems.
