California State Parks is exchanging land in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park with the adjacent property owner of the Butterfield Ranch because a septic leach field was inadvertently placed on park land and not discovered for approx. 12 years. The new undisturbed land acquired will be managed for cultural and natural resource protection and for the outdoor recreational use and enjoyment by the public visiting Anza-Borrego Desert State.
