The City of West Sacramento, in cooperation with the Caltrans, is proposing a new 0.4-mile multi-modal roadway. The proposed project would extend Village Parkway from where it currently terminates at the intersection of Stonegate Drive to the Mike McGowan Bridge over the Yolo Barge Canal. The new roadway would be built to accommodate two 12-foot-wide lanes in each direction but would initially be striped for one in each direction. The proposed project would also include a 16-foot wide raised median, 6-foot wide bicycle lanes, 5-foot wide sidewalks set back from the curb by 5-foot wide landscaping strips, street lights, and underground utility infrastructure. The proposed roadway would connect to the existing roadways with two roundabout intersections.
