Document Description
The Project is limited to road decommissioning of 48 sediment delivery sites including 25 stream crossings, 17 landslide sites (existing or pending road fil failures), 1spring, 4 ditch relief culverts, and 1 bank erosion site on 5.2 miles of active and abandoned road systems and to salvage and stage large woody debris (LWD) exhumed from decommissioned stream crossings for future placement in James Creek. By implementing these site specific erosion control measures, the project will prevent approximately 12,188 cubic yards of future sediment delivery to James Creek and North Fork James Creek and improve instream habitat conditions for spawning and rearing salmonids. Decommissioning of one of the stream crossings (Feature 2) will also remove an upstream migration barrier that currently blocks fish access to approximately 2.8 miles of high quality spawning and rearing habitat.
