Document Description
Caltrans has prepared this IS, to examine the potential environmental impacts of the alternatives being considered for the proposed project to provide two-way, left turn lanes (TWLTL) at four locations on SR 62 in Joshua Tree in San Bernardino County. They are Segment 1 Post Mile 16.75 to PM 1695), Segment 2 (PM 19.05 to PM 20.15), Segment 3 (PM 22.15 to PM 23.15) and Segment 4 (PM 24.2 to PM 25.2). It is necessary to widen the existing roadbed an additional 12 feet to accommodate this extra lane. This is accomplished by removing the shoulder and adding new pavement on one or both sides of the highway.
