Document Description
San Luis Obispo County Department of Public Works is proposing to construct a new pedestrian-bicycle bridge over San Juan Creek in Shandon adjacent to the existing vehicle bridge on the East Centre Street. The primary purpose of the project is to improve safety over the creek by providing a bridge to accommodate pedestrians and bicyclists. The new bridge will be located north of and adjacent to the East Centre Street Bridge, and will be approximately the same height as the bridge Widening the bridge to accommodate sidewalks and/or bike lanes was considered but dismissed due to funding issues. The project will result in the temporary disturbance of 0.7 acre and the permanent disturbance of approximately 0.35 acre.
