Document Description
The proposed Mobility Plan is a comprehensive update to the Transportation Chapter of the adopted 2006 Downtown San Diego Community Plan and would be consistent with the relevant policies from the 2008 City of San Diego General Plan. This planning effort was undertaken to build on the existing community plan policies, and to address the changing priorities and needs of the multi-modal network within the urban setting. The proposed plan is intended to improve connections and access for transit riders, bicyclists, and pedestrians, while maintaining roadway circulation for cars and commercial vehicles and increasing on-street parking where feasible. While existing in the Downtown, the rail facilities, which include the light rail trolley system and heavy rail corridors, are not included proposed for modifications as part of this planning effortin this plan.
