Document Description
Caltrans is proposing to stabilize stream banks in two geologically-unstable locations on U.S. Route 199. Along the Smith River at Post Mile (PM) 8.7, Caltrans proposes to increase the shoulder width to 4 feet and construct an approximate 181 foot long soldier pile retaining wall with a metal beam guard rail (MBGR). Along the Middle Fork Smith River at PM 21.7, Caltrans proposes to construct an approximate 50-foot-long rock gabion retaining structure and reconstruct sections of the road shoulder and install a MBGR.
