Document Description
The purpose of this Project is to develop waterside habitat while providing protection from potential wind wave erosion on the Sherman Island levee system between approximate levee stations 690+00 and 850+00 along the northern portion of Sherman Island. This area is susceptible to wind wave erosion due to the large fetch of open water which allows large wave buildup to crash against the waterside slope of the levee, much of which is not protected by riprap. The proposed Project will involve excavation of toe trenches and placement of riprap and imported bedding material on portions of the waterside slopes of approximately 15,700 feet of levee along the Sacramento River. Riparian habitat will be developed from approximate Station 711+00 - 726+50 and 756+00 - 847+00, between approximate elevations 6.0 (mean high water) and elevation 11.0.
