Document Description
The Project proposes a new lease between the District and San Diego Refrigerated Services that would extend the current lease expiration from 2025 to December 31, 2036 (11 years), allow for an increase of throughput through SDRS's refrigerated storage operation at the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal (TAMT), and potentially allow for preferential berthing. It is estimated that SDRS has a total throughput approximately 140,000 metric tons (MT) of cargo annually. The new lease allows SDRS to obtain preferential non-exclusive use of Berth 10-4 on TAMT if it enters into a services provider agreement with a cargo importer or exporter for 16,000 MT of cargo per month, or a total of approximately 192,000 MT annually. The increased cargo throughput would be shipped from TAMT via rail and trucks. No construction activities or other improvements are proposed.
