Document Description
Hazardous materials remediation at the Mercury Dry Cleaners site to mitigate substances known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, respiratory system or reproductive system harm. The remediation is necessitated by the detection of comtaminant dry cleaning solvents in soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and indoor air samples caused by historical discharge of hazardous wastes and products associated with the dry cleaning business that has operated on the site since approximately 1947. The project involves hazardous materials investigation, abatement and demolition of structures which have been impacted by chemical releases during more than 70 years of continous operation of a dry cleaning plant, and remediation required by regulatory agencies.
