Document Description
CDFw has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2013-0226-R2, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code James M. Murphy, Sierra County Waterworks. The project consists of removal of about 1500 cubic yards of silt, sand and gravel accumulated in Calpine Reservoir from winter storms, Calpine Reservoir is a fire protection reservoir for the community of Calpine. For the reservoir clean out, a temporary earthen dam covered with 6-millimeter polyethylene sheathing shall be used to temporarily divert water from Fletcher Creek to an existing 18-inch bypass pipe around the reservoir and back into the creek at the dam. Water remaining within the reservoir shall be drained by way of existing dam drain valve and fire hydrant below dam, back into Fletcher Creek approximately 1 mile below the dam. willows adjacent to the reservoir shall be cut back as needed to allow equipment access. A track excavator, backhoe and dump truck shall be used, and shall access the project site along an existing access road and Forest Service road. The material shall be placed and stabilized on a private parcel at the intersection of Highway 89 and Main Street in Calpine.
