Document Description
The Ishi Conservation Camp security burn is a planned annual prescribed burn designed to clear cured annual grass growth on the hillslopes adjacent to the secured areas of the Ishi Conservation Camp. Annual removal of the grass through low intensity burns will reduce fuels and increase visibility of the ground surface, which will assist the California Department of Corrections personnel with rapid discovery and confiscation of contraband on State property. The area planned for the burn is approximately 49 acres and will be completed during the late spring to early summer months after the grass is cured and as security issues warrant the need for a burn to increase security at tIshi Camp.
