Document Description
The proposed project is the first of a three-phased effort to relocate, upgrade, and improve the utility infrastructure and related elements at the UCIMC. The project would include the following elements:
1. Hardscape and landscape improvements along Medical Center Drive.
2. Preparation/Installation of rooftop HVAC equipment at Buildings 22C and 23, and rooftop piping, valves, controls, riders, and pumps at Building 23 to connect to the chilled water system at the new Central Plant.
3. Installation of sectioning valves to complete the underground water distribution loop.
4. Retrofit/installation of building management/control system/fixtures and related work to save energy.
5. Relocation/replacement of underground/aboveground utilities and related infrastructure, and replacement/relocation of portions of the aged storm drain and sewer system.
6. Installation of a new head end fire alarm system to replace the obsolete/non-compliant system in Building 22B that serves several buildings.
7. Remodel/expansion of the electrical room and switchgear serving outpatient clinics to redistribute power that formerly served the old hospital.
8. Demolition and backfill of the abandoned City of Orange 800,000 gallon water reservoir, including related trenching, roadwork, hardscape, and landscape.
9. Provision of domestic water service metering and alterations required by the City of Orange.
10. Master metering of utilities at many buildings to develop a usage baseline and to monitor building performance.
