Document Description
CHP will replace and upgrade the Crestview Peak telecommunications facility to meet the CHP Enhanced Radio System requirements for public safety. The existing vault and tower space are inadequate to accommodate the digital multi-channel equipment and antennae requirements. Work will: remove approximately four trees; excavate and pour three concrete pads - (1) approximately 35 feet long by 35 feet wide and up to 6 feet thick; the pad would be buried 1 to 2 feet deep than install a new self-supporting, four-leg, 80-foot-tall steel lattice tower; with a non-reflective galvanized finish and would not be lighted; (2) a 20' x 40' x 6" pad for a new fiberglass vault with an emergency generator; and (3) a 20' x 6' x6" pad to relocate two propane takes. Additional work will excavate to install underground utilities between the tower, vault, and propane tanks, and to extend the perimeter fencing. If excess soil is generated during construction activities, it would be disposed of offsite, or would be transported off-site for disposal. Upon completion of construction, the existing tower and vault would be demolished.
