Document Description
The Alameda County Community Development Agency and Department of Public Health have partnered to develop the Ashland and Cherryland Community Health and Wellness Element ("Element" or "CHWE") of the Alameda County General Plan. The CHWE is based on the principles of equity, accountability, collaboration, diverse resident participation, and the development of local assets and resources that support the community's vision of health and wellness. The Element is based on the findings of a community health profile that described the status of health and wellness is Ashland and Cherryland today, including a review of current physical, social, and economic determinants of health. The goals, policies, and actions in the Element address how land use and building policies may support health, social equity, and environmental justice.
