- Document Description
- The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2014-0269-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, San Joaquin County Department of Public Works. The project is limited to the replacement of the Wildwood Road Bridge crossing Temple Creek and improvement of roadway approaches. The replacement bridge will have two 11-foot-wide traffic lanes; two paved shoulders, each with a width of 2 feet and 1 inch; and two concrete barriers, each with a width of 1 foot and 5 inches. The total bridge width will be approximately 29 feet. In order to satisfy freeboard requirements above the 100-year floodplain, the vertical elevation of the approach roadways on both sides of the bridge will be raised by approximately 3.5 feet to accommodate the higher bridge. Approximately 445 feet of the western approach and 555 feet of the eastern approach will require fill to raise the road elevation to a sufficient height. The existing bridge consists of two short spans having low clearance over the waterway and a flat vertical roadway profile. The replacement bridge will be a precast voided slab bridge with a cast-in-place deck. Roadway work will be performed at the approaches of the bridge and the new bridge will include standard railings. It is anticipated that additional right-of-way will be needed. Project activities will include: roadway alignment, vegetation clearing, temporary stream flow diversion, bridge demolition, bridge construction, channel contouring and erosion control activities (filter fabric and rock slope protection), and site rehabilitation. The project is anticipated to result in the removal of three Valley Oaks (Quercus lobata) of approximately 12 to 23-inch diameter trunk will be removed for the project.
