Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2017-0097-R5, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, LA County Flood Control District (District). The District intends to modify existing flood management and water conservation facilities along the Santa Anita Canyon from Santa Anita Dam to Santa Anita Debris Dam (SADD). The purpose of the SADD project is to restore and increase efficiency and volume of water conservation activities at SADD. District's mission includes the collection and percolation of flood waters for water conservation. The District's need for project is to conduct improvements to remedy safety restrictions on inlet/outlet tower, embankments, and spillway required by CA Division of Dam Safety (DSOD) to meet seismic safety standards. Once these improvements are completed the operational safety restrictions will be removed from SADD, thereby restoring SADD's water conservation capabilities.
