Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2015-0155-R5, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Los Angeles County Flood Control District. The project is limited to maintaining existing flood control and water conservation operations at Santa Anita Dam (Dam), and conducting retrofit of the Dam to create the capacity to pass the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF) of 26,100 cubic feet per second. The purpose and need for the project is to reduce the risk of Dam failure from uncontrolled overtopping during major rain events. Reducing the risk of Dam failure is proposed by modification of Dam's existing spillway with sufficient capacity to pass the PMF.
