Document Description
The Urban Greening Project seeks to develop a 3.8 acre shaded linear parkway along the banks of an irrigation canal. The proposed site is located within the proposed Farmersville Sports Complex, a 23-acre site within the City. The project will beautify and enhance a man-made waterway that is often perceived as an eyesore. The project includes planting more than 1,000 native trees and shrubs, constructing a walking trail on both sides of the canal, installing interpretive signage and straw bale benches, moving an existing engineered drainage basin in the project area, and replacing the drainage basin with three rain gardens.
