Document Description
This project is the approval of the Decision Document by the DTSC, prepared by United States Air Force (USAF) for Point Arena Air Force Station (AFS). The DD proposes No-Further Action with Land Use Controls (LUC) for specific locations within the Operations and Cantonment Area (OCA), Housing Area (Site ZZ661), and Wastewater Treatment and Water Supply Area at AFS. The remaining constituents of concern are volatile organic compounds (VOCs), lead and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) in soil. VOC, lead and TPH contamination are present beneath Building 217 foundation, and at depth (12 feet below ground surface) behind the building; and TPH contamination in the vicinity of monitoring well MW-215 (former location of underground storage tanks [USTs] B and C) at Building 202 in the OCA; and potential petroleum contaminated soil beneath the 216 foundation within the Wastewater Treatment and Water Supply Area.
