Document Description
The proposed Project is an update to the City's existing Housing Element for the planning period of 2015-2023, consistent with State Housing Law. The Housing Element identifies housing needs, affordable housing sites, and goals, policies and programs to meet the City's identified need. The Project makes minor updates to these goals, policies and programs to meet the City's changing needs and to accommodate housing development that will meet Morgan Hill's Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA). The Project does not change any land use or zoning designations since the City has an adequate supply of vacant residential land to meet its RHNA. The Project also triggers other minor General Plan amendments, such as to strengthen policies protecting lives and property from flood and fire hazards, which are also reviewed in the IS.
