Document Description
The existing Monge Ranch Road Bridge would be removed and replaced with a single span 60 feet long by 25.5 feet wide (22 foot traffic width) precast pre-stressed concrete slab bridge. The concrete slab superstructure would be connected to the abutments with pins that transfer much of the soil lateral load behind the abutment into the superstructure, thus reducing the size of footing at the abutments. The abutments are expected to be founded on pile footings due to the depth to bedrock and scour concerns. Caltrans Standard Type 80 reinforced concrete barrier would be provided along each edge of the bridge deck.
