The proposed project would widen, reconstruct, and upgrade approximately 5,100 linear feet of Kentucky Avenue. West of College Street, the widened configuration would include two lanes plus a two-way left turn lane, bike lanes in both directions, and improved sidewalk along the south side of Kentucky Avenue. East of College Street, the widened roadway would include a divided four-lane configuration with bike lanes, new sidewalks, and landscape planters on both sides. College Street would also be improved from Kentucky Avenue to Topaz Way with added sidewalks, replaced or relocated curb and gutter, pavement rehabilitation, and striping modifications associated with the new configuration at the intersection with Kentucky Avenue. Additional improvements within project limits include complete reconstruction of the existing pavement, some new curbed medians, a new traffic signal at College Street, a reconfigured traffic signal at East Street, a complete upgrade of City street lighting, two widened railroad at-grade crossings with new upgraded warning signals, bus turnouts at some major intersections landscaping adjacent to the new separated sidewalks and in the medians with street trees where appropriate, and some master planned upgrades to City storm drainage and water system facilties. The project would require partial or full right-of-way acquisition and/or temporary construction easements on the parcels of land with the APNs.
