Document Description
The proposed project includes improving storage in the ponding basins through flood easement acquisition and raising the embankments/roads. The work would include acquiring new flood easements, acquiring less than one acre of land, raising approximately 9,900 linear feet of Canal embankment and constructing an approximately 350-foot-long weir, raising two roads, raising temporary pump pads and embankments around Westlands Water District turnout facilities, clearing sediment within Cantua Creek, and relocating some utilities during construction. All borrow materials for construction would be excavated onsite. The proposed project would improve the conditions of the facilities to achieve a 50-year level of flood protection for the canal in this area.
