Document Description
Merced County Public Works Dept. is working with Merced County Administration and the Merced County Sheriff's Dept to construct a new County jail building and remodel adjacent existing jail facilities at John Latorraca Correctional Center (JLCC). The proposed new and remodeled facilities will occur entirely within the existing JLCC property. It includes construction of a new six-story jail; upgrade and expansion of all necessary infrastructure to support the project; remodeling and expansion of an existing dormitory space for a new intake/release area, and addition of a secured/controlled entryway (i.e., new sally port); remodeling of existing buildings to add classroom and programming spaces; and remodeling of existing administrative office space.
