Document Description
The City of La Palma is proposing the adoption of a new zoning overlay district entitled "Freeway Overlay District (FO)" to allow for the construction of pole signs and billboards on land adjacent to and abutting SR 91 right-of-way within city boundaries. The FO designation is intended for certain areas of non-residential land uses adjacent to the freeway that provide special information display opportunities and require a tailored approach to planning and design. The designation is intended to allow for information dissemination from freestanding display structures including both static information displays and electronic/digital displays. The ordinance allows for a number for a number of sign standards that are intended to apply to signs in all zoning districts. The proposed FO District will encompass fourteen separate parcels on either side of SR-91.
