DWR, operator of the State Water Project (SWP), currently has an agreement with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) for the operation, maintenance, and power generation of Castaic Powerplant, which is part of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) license for the South SWP Hydropower Project NO. 2426 (P-2426. Through Amendment 5, DWR and LADWP are amending this agreement to extend the term of the agreement until the earlier of January 1, 2072 or the expiration of the second FERC license, which DWR and LADWP will submit an application to FERC prior to the first license's expiration in 2022.
