Document Description
This project will build a nesting platform for osprey (Pandion haliaetus), a diurnal fish eating bird of prey. The birds use a tall site to spot prey. The platform will be three feet square mounted horizontally on a 36 foot tall pole providing a 360 degree view. It will be located on the San Diego Bay at Silver Strand State Beach and give the birds and alternate place to perch, instead of the sailboat masts of the Crown Cove Aquatic Center, protecting public health and safety.
