Document Description
As a result of the drought emergency, water deliveries from Pacific Gas & Electric Company, the Agency's primary source for municipal water supply, have been severly reduced. On February 6, 2014, the PCWA Board of Directors declared a water shortage emergency due to the current severe drought conditions. The shortfall in the PG&E deliveries can partially be replaced by pumping American River water using the American River Pump Station. Limitations in pumping have been identified in the existing infrastructure of the American River Pump Station. Improvements have been designed for the pump station to increase the rate of water the PCWA can supply from the American River to the raw water system to meet the needs of its existing customers and supply to the City of Roseville and San Juan Water District if Folsom Reservoir is too low to effect normal deliveries and mitigate the eeffects of the drought emergency.
