Document Description
The project will require work on the abutments, bearings, bridge deck, piers, and foundations. Construction would take approximately six months with mobilization starting about May 1, and construction beginning May 15. The project will require a work pad within the Russian River, as described below. Work pad installation in flowing water would not begin until June 15. Construction in the active channel would be completed by October 15. Some activities including bird barrier installation and vegetation removal would occur in the winter prior to construction. Some vegetation would be removed for access to the piers for the footing retrofits and bearing replacement. Following completion of construction, temporary work areas will be re-graded to approximately the preconstruction contours, with appropriate erosion control best management practices (BMPs) applied. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2014-0407-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Sonoma County Department of Transportation and Public Works.
