Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2016-0289-R2, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the Project Applicant, Yolo County Dept. of Community Services, Public Works.
Project is limited to replacement of the existing County Road 99W Bridge over Buckeye Creek. The existing bridge will be removed and replaced with a 123 foot long clear span girder box structure supported by abutments with driven pilings. The removal of the existing bridge will include: 1) Demolition and removal of the existing deck of the bridge; 2) Demolition and removal of the support pilings for the bridge, including excavation of the streambed to remove the footings for the current bridge; backfilling of excavations associated with removal of the support pilings for the existing bridge; 3) Removal of the existing bridge support abutments, and 4) Construction and later removal of a temporary access ramp into the streambed from the roadway to allow entrance and egress for heavy construction equipment. Construction of the new replacement bridge will include: 1) Construction of new bridge deck support abutments including placed of deep drilled or driven pilings for support and anchoring of the abutments; 2) Lining the banks of Buckeye Creek with rock slope protection from a distance of 215 feet upstream of the bridge, beneath the bridge, to a distance 131 feet downstream of the replacement bridge to minimize risk of streambank erosion that could undermine or damage the bridge abutments; 3) Raising of the roadway on both sides of the creek to elevate the deck of the bridge allowing sufficient freeboard for unrestricted flows associated with up to a 100 year flood event, and 4) Construction of the interior support structure and pouring in place of a post-tensioned concrete box girder structure.
