Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (Notification No. LAN-29747-R5), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, to the project applicant Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, as represented by Louis Romero. The Project is limited to construction of a stormwater reclamation facility to increase water quality and water reuse benefits in the San Gabriel River watershed. An underground storage system will be constructed beneath Adventure Park with a capacity of 19.5 acre-feet. Stormwater will be captured via overland flow (sheet flow) from the nearby vicinity as well as via the Sorensen Drain, which is located west of Adventure Park. During wet weather events, flow from the Sorensen Drain will be diverted into the underground storage system where it will be filtered before being discharged back into the Sorensen Drain. During dry weather events, flow from the Sorensen Drain will be diverted and captured via the underground storage system. Drainage from the storage system will then be discharged into the Light Street sanitary sewer during the overnight hours of 10pm to 8am, and flow to the Los Coyotes Water Reclamation Plant for the primary objective of water reuse.
