Document Description
Proposed stormwater infrastructure project. Components include the design and construction of: two stormwater detention basins; an upgraded pump station with 1,050 linear feet of force main line to discharge from one basin to the other; a concrete weir overflow into Mill Creek, two pipeline connections into Jennings Ditch, 5,900 linear feet of gravity storm drain pipe that includes an open trench crossing of Mill Creek and 75 linear feet of steel casing borod beneath railroad tracks. The two main areas proposed for ground disturbing activity are numerated below: 1-The Jennings Ditch Detention Basin (Jennings Basin) will be adjacent to and connected with two pipelines to Jennings Ditch with an overflow weir to Mill Creek, approximately 90 feet to the south. The basin will be 2.9 acre stormwater layoff basin consisting of one cell. The basin will be excavated six feet in depth and have two feet of freeboard for a volume of 5.8 acre-feet at a water depth of four feet. The basin perimeter will be close to natural grade to blend into the natural grades for Jennings Ditch. 2-Expansion of the existing Soroptimist Basin is an expansion of the 2.1-acre, 20 feet deep retention basin by 1.8 acres and an increase of storage capacity by approximately 25 acre feet. The basin will be converted to a detention basin function with a connecting pipeline to an upgraded pump station at Goshen Avenue and Burke Street. The pump station will include 1,050 feet of force main discharge line to Jennings Ditch. The expanded basin will receive additional urban stormwater runoff through a new inflow pipeline connection from the south. The basin will receive stormwater runoff from the Downtown area, thus reducing direct stormwater discharge into Mill Creek.
