Document Description
Project will include (i) an amendment to the Garden Grove Municipal Code to allow existing legal non-conforming off-premise signs (billboards) located on, or relocated to, property adjacent to SR-22 to be converted to digital (electronic) displays, (ii) approval of site plan application for the construction of a relocated off-premise digital sign adjacent to SR-22, and (iii) approval of an associated relocation agreement. Specifically, the applicant proposes the removal of 4 existing non-electronic billboard sign faces and associated structures and the construction and operation of 1 new outdoor advertising structure (billboard) utilizing a two-sided digital display. Digital or electronic signs are currently not generally permitted within the City of Garden Grove and moving forward with the application will require the City to amend Municipal Code Section 9.20.110 to permit electronic billboards relocated to property along the SR-22. In conjunction with the application and Municipal Code Amendment, the applicant and City will be entering into a relocation agreement pertaining to the removed and relocated billboards.
