Investigate corrosion of the main suspension cables of the west span of the SFOBB to monitor its service life. Repair cracks in the concrete structures of Piers W4 and W7 & apply a corrosion inhibitor on the exterior surface at Pier W4. The purpose is to preserve the structural integrity of the bridge. Travelers on I80 will benefit.

The State Historic Preservation Officer concurs with Caltrans' determination that the project will not have adverse effect on the SFOBB & meets the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
