- The project area consist of Downtown Berkeley and proposes to establish an Overlay District covering a portion of the downtown area. The overlay would regulate development standards for new development and redevelopment within the overlay district. The district currently has various land uses (commercial, institutional, educational, public space, and residential), zoning consists of two-family residential (R-2), multi-family residential (R-3), C-DMU Core, C-DMU Outer Core, C-DMU Buffer, and the general plan land use designations include Downtown, Institutional, and Open Space.
