U.S. Forest Service Land in the Eldorado National Forest
The El Dorado Irrigation District is proposing to rehabilitate and/or replace portions of Flumes 42/43, 44, and 45. The flumes are water conveyance structures and components of the El Dorado Hydroelectric Project (Project No. 184) El Dorado Canal (Canal). The Project involves in-kind replacement of the wood flume structures, replacement and reinforcement of flume substructure, and stabilization of eroded or unstable foundation areas. The Project is designed to protect public safety and prevent resource damage by rehabilitating the flume structures, provide continued water supply for drinking water and hydroelectric generation, and ensure the continued operational reliability of the Canal system.
