Document Description
Major modification of downtown Main Street between Riverside Drive and Beach Street (City Right of Way) to reduce traffic speeds, enhance pedestrian safety, provide bike lanes, and provide new outdoor gathering areas downtown. This will be achieved by reducing the number of travel lanes on Main Street from 4 lanes and a center turn lane too two lanes and a center turn lane including, the addition of sidewalk bulb outs at cross walks and intersections, bike lanes, parallel parking, expanded sidewalks and new civic gathering spaces. The modifications also include necking down travel lanes gradually, and reconfiguring the intersection of Second and main Street to allow the removal of a split phase traffic signal.
