Document Description
The proposed project would reduce fuel loads and fire hazards, improve wildlife habitat and watershed conditions, and encourage forest growth on 200 acres of forest land. Treatment methods include the use of a brush chipper with pile burning (on approximately 100 acres) and mechanical mastication (on approximately 100 acres). All treatments would conform to the recommendations of the United States Forest Service's General Technical Report 220, An Ecosystem Management Strategy for Sierran Mixed-Conifer Forests.
