Document Description
MDOT, with grant sponsorship from State Safe Routes to School (SR2S) Program, proposes to construct sidewalks, curb and gutter and install bike lanes in the Calpella community. The main goal of the project is to create a safe and attractive pedestrian environment. Formal curb and gutter will occur at the southwest corner of the intersection of North State and Moore Streets. Swales will be utilized on North State Street, where feasible, for storm water retention and filtration prior to entering the drainage system and flowing to the Russian River. Sidewalks will connect residents in the area to the school, businesses, and services. A 5-foot, Class II bike lane will be constructed along the west side of North State Street. Moore Street will have a Class II bike lane on the south side of the street from State Street to 3rd Street and a Class I bike lane the rest of the way to Calpella Elementary School.
