The project sponsor has applied for a new Conditional Use Permit (CUP12-004) from Merced County to expand the existing herd at the dairy to a total of 7,720 animals, including 3,360 milk cows. Construction of new facilities would occur with the proposed expansion, mostly within the footprint of the existing facility. The proposed facilities would include: shade addition; heifer shade; special needs barn; three freestall barns; exercise pen; and addition to the silage slab.
