Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has amended the Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (1600-2015-0045-R6), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, to the project Applicant, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP). This Amendment authorizes one acre of impacts. This Amendment includes the installation of sand fences in Dust Control Areas (DCAs) T1A-3 and T32-2 and reseeding and planting of native species in T32-2. The proposed scope consists of 1) installation of one new row of 300 linear feet of tan colored sand fence in DCA T32-2, offset 10 to 20 feet from the existing row of sand fence to provide a second layer of protection from adjacent uncontrolled areas; 2) new installation of 9,320 linear feet of double row sand fence in DCA T1A-3 W and DCA T1A-3E along the entire perimeter of the western Gravel Cover (GC) area; and 3) new installation of 19,920 linear feet of double row sand fence along the western border of DCA T1A-3. The installation of new sand fences will consist of driving T-posts vertically four feet into the ground onto five-foot center posts. Sand fence fabric will be secured to T-posts by placing the fabric between the T-post and the dowel. New sand fences will be constructed using four-foot-tall, 50 percent porosity, UV-resistant mesh tan-colored material. This Amendment also includes reseeding and planting of native species in DCA T32-2 to increase vegetation cover.
