Document Description
The proposed project on BLM land would involve implementation of a reclamation plan for an expansion of an existing decorative rock quarry operation that would add approximately 33.4 acres to the active quarry site and an additional 21 acres along the west and south boundaries that would remain undisturbed. It would include mining two small hilltops, development of two new waste placement areas, and additional sediment basins and drainage controls. Reclamation would consist of final grading and revegetation. The methods of extraction and processing would not change compared to current quarry operations. No expansion of annual production is proposed, and there would be no change in the amount of material hauled off-site to the retail facility. The projected life of mining operations is 25 years.
