The project will create needed fuel breaks between the homes and open space. These breaks are designed to change the potential fire behavior by modifying the vegetation arrangement and reducing the fire intensity and firebrand impact to adjacent structures.
Project involves only minor alterations to existing conditions of the land by removing dead plants and trim overgrown vegetation. The cuttings will be chipped and left on site with no ground disturbance activities. Field review from county foresters confirmed that no exceptions apply which would preclude the use of a Notice of Exemption for this project and conclude that no significant impact would occur.
