NOE - Notice of Exemption
The purpose of this project is to remove three exotic plants, French broom (Genista monspessuiana), Spanish broom (Cylisus multifiorus), and English Ivy (Hedera helix) from an area of less than 5 acres total, on two gravel bars below the Hickey Campground and along the river access trail that begins near the campfire center. This will support the grouwth of native plants and enhance visitors' experiences.
These species will be removed using hand tools, primary weed wrenches and Pulaskis. A hand saw or chainsaw may be required tocut some of the larger broom plants to the ground.
Minor alterations in the condition of land and/or vegetation that do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees and consists of restoration tha does not exceed five acres in size for plant and wildlife habitat; included as "resource management projects" in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities, in accordance with CCR 15300.4.
