Caltrans proposes a project to improve operations and workers safety along (SR) 299 in Trinity County, by widening the West Bound paved shoulder and replacing the guard rail from (PM) 3.7 to 4.2. This segment of (SR) 299 is a three lane conventional highway with one west bound lane and two east bound lanes, including a truck climbing lane.
