Document Description
TRLIA is proposing to either construct an embankment within the Goldfields or construct a levee just south of the Goldfields to reduce the 200-year flood risk associated with floodwaters flowing through the Goldfields and entering urban areas in the RD 784 service area (southwest Yuba County). Four alternative flood protection alignments have been identified. Three alternatives involving constructing an embankment using dredge tailings within the Goldfields. The fourth alternative involves constructing an engineered levee south of the Goldfields. All alternatives would be capable of meeting USACE and DWR urban levee design criteria for 200-year flood protection, and all will be evaluated at an equal level of detail in the EIR. TRLIA is using the EIR to provide input into its selection of the best alternative for implementation.
